(More customer reviews)I've read all the pros and cons of the Imaginex line. As a mother of 4 boys (ages 12, 12, 10 and 4) I totally understand all these reviews. The quality of this system is top notch. Everything is sturdy and well-constructed, however people are complaining that it falls apart. In the past, I purchased a ton of the Rescue Heroes line...the castle, the ship...all big playset pieces that, once you assembled, could not be taken apart. They were designed to be set up one way. Imaginex is different. After fiddling with this set for a couple of days (and complaining that it fell apart), I realized that it is designed so that the child can "imagine" and change/reconfigure the set a different way each time. You can't lift it up and carry it around like the Rescue Heroes sets and the like, but it wasn't designed for that. It was designed for the child to use his imagination and create different scenarios each time...because of this, it does come apart easier than the others. If you want quality, durability, versatility (and a toy that can be taken down and packed in a small corner), you will love Imaginex. If you want a toy that stays constructed in one formation and that can be moved around the house, this toy is not for you.

Home to evil Lord Dragomont, this massive fortress sports a huge dragon's head centered above a set of swinging gates. Lights flash and alerts sound when the dragon's mouth opens. Turning a knob on the back makes "hot lava" flow to the right of the stone entryway steps. Further to the side rest two stone platforms, one above the other, equipped with a trap door that opens when a secret spot is hit. The toy's quality is decent but not mind-blowing. It comes with a 26-minute cartoon video, Fortress of the Dragon; also included are action figures of Lord Dragomont, a small red lizard, and a winged red dragon that shoots a missile out of its chest. (You just press a button above its tail.) Required are three AA batteries, sold separately.
