(More customer reviews)My daughter loved "Elmo Live" and so we thought she might like "Potty with Elmo" as she begins potty training. Unlike Elmo Live, Potty with Elmo does not move on its own, but rather just speaks based on what actions you take,for example, pretending to give him a drink from the accompanying sippy cup, placing him on his included potty. You have to press the sippy cup just right into Elmo's mouth to get Elmo to vocalize. Also, you must place Elmo on the potty just right for the sensors to detect that he's there. Unfortunatley, placing things just right is not what a 2-year old is good at! I even felt frustrated as I tried to figure out what one needed to do to get the various responses from Elmo. Also, the responses were not consistent (even when we got Elmo sitting on the potty immediately when he said he had to go, he often responds that he has had an accident). The lack of correlation between successfully getting to the potty and negative/positive responses from Elmo makes this of questionable value as a teaching tool. This toy is most valuable as a stuffed toy that can be cuddled (if your child likes Elmo) - but you don't need to pay $30 - $40 to get a stuffed Elmo doll for your child.
