(More customer reviews)OK, I just bought this doll for my 2 year old a couple of weeks ago to give it to her for Christmas. I just looked it up right now and realized the price is cut in half. Could this be because this doll simply does not work? I was so excited to program it when I got as far as inserting the disc and getting the installation screen. As soon as I click on "Install" I get this weird message:
Executable 'D:\Dora_Splash.exe' had the following unrecoverable error:
Couldn't find library MSVCR80.dll (required by C:\PROGRA~1\MICROS~2\Office12\GrooveUtil.DLL)
Please ensure that it is installed
Then the OK box to click on underneath.
What I get from this message is that it's telling me that my computer can't find exactly what I'm trying to install. Duh! Anyway, the Instructions sheet inside the box say that if you're having problems, not to return the doll but call Customer Service. Tried that, they are no help whatsoever. The lady sounded so lost it wasn't even funny. Told me to take the disc out and clean it. Then suggested I google the error message or try calling the maker of my computer.
I think this it too much time to waste on a doll that I had read tons of problems about but didn't listen to hoping it would work and that it would be so cute. Next time, I'll listen to the reviews online instead of going for the "cuteness factor" of the toy and what it could do.
I believe I'll be sending it back ASAP and getting my money back. Good to know I still have 2 weeks before Christmas to purchase something else for my daughter from "Santa".
