(More customer reviews)Fisher Price has some wonderful toys and I was hoping for another winner like the "Learning Home" which I first got when my child was 12 months and she still plays with it as a 2yo----it's loaded with sound-effects & nice songs...can put it out in the middle of the floor or leave it against a wall turning it periodically to reveal the other side of buttons etc.
The grow-with-me kitchen so far has been the most expensive ignored toy I've dropped $$$ on. *sigh*. The only sound it has is turning on the stove makes a boiling water sound.
Bottom line: it does not resemble a grown-up's kitchen and the lack of sounds or songs means it's just pointless to play with after initial inspection. After doing some reading on child development I've had a few eureka moments that will help me make smarter purchases.
My goal: a child-friendly functional kitchenette with wooden cabinets that can hold real snacks and plates/cups/utensils.
Also this posting on amazon isn't the best deal. I subscribed to fisher-price' website and they email out promotions like free-shipping days and such.
